Bill Atkinson, Macintosh Pionenine and the Founder of Hypercard, dies in 74
My first meeting Bill Atkinson is not refugees. It was November 1983, and reporting about a folding stone, I had reached a group in the Macintosh’s computer, scheduled to introduce the beginning of the following year. Everyone kept telling me, “Wait until you meet Bill and Andy,” heading to Atkinson and Andy Hertzfeld, two important authors of Mac. Here’s what I wrote about in my book, Good in Mahwane:
I met Bill Atkinson first. A taller of uncontrollable hair, pancho villa mustache, and blue eyes, had the incomparable power of Bruce Durn in one of his changes such as the Vietnam Vet of Vietnam Vetnam. Like everyone in the room, he wore jeans and a shirt. “Do you want to see a bug?” Asked me. He attracted me to his field and proved Macintosh. Filling on the screen was the marvelous detail of the insect. It was good, something you can see in the expensive service of the study lab, but not on a personal computer. Atkinson laughed at his joke, he was very ignoring, talking a very close-to-stand the words with respectful weight. “An obstacle between words and pictures are broken,” he said. “So far the artist has been a Holy Group. As a beautiful China. Now it is a daily basis.”
Atkinson was good. His offering to Macintosh was critical of the success and made me laugh at the Apple office known as Bandey 3 on that day. A few years later, he would make another significant donation through the Hyrcard program, seeing the World Wide Web. Thanks all, he kept his strength and Joie de vivre, and he was inspiring to all the world’s church change. June 5, 2025, died after a long illness. He was 74.
Atkinson did not plan to be a personal pioneer in Computing. As a graduate student, he studied computer science and neurobiology at the University of Washington. But when he met apple II in 1977, he fell in love, and went to work and built a company last year. He was an employee 51. In 1979, he was among the small group headed by XEEVEA PARC PAR and beaten by a computer interface showing there. It was his job to translate that customer to the consumer, which applies to the Apple’s Lisa project. In the process, he launched many meetings that continue to continue on modern computers, such as menu germs. Atkinson also created QuickDream, critical technical technology on the screen. One of those things was a “Round-Rott” -box with round rooms will be part of everyone’s computer experience. Atkinson had refused this idea until the activities made him walk around the block and see all traffic signs and other circular corners.
When jobs take another Apple project for the inspection of PARC, Macintosh, included Atkinson, of its work has already influenced the product. Hertzfeld, former Mac interface, once described the features of the Mac: “Whatever Bill Atkinson did, I took, and nothing else.” He said. Atkinson, which had disagreements the higher price tag, accepts the view of the most expensive version, and started writing the mACpaints, a program that will equip users create art on the MAC screen.
After Imac introduced, the party began to appear. Atkinson had an Apple sourle’s title, which gave him freedom to follow the projects of love. He started work on something he called magic – a high-center service that weighs less than a pound and can be controlled by stylus and swap the touch screen. Basically, he was designing the iPad for 25 years. But technology was not ready to create something very little and powerful for the accessible price (Atkinson hope that you will not cost 6, “Have you ever searched for me.
