Congrats on your new job! What excits you with the hope of working with Emma?

Finland especially has a different culture designed by its precise history between Sweden and Russia. You were the director of KW Institute of Modern Arts in Berlin between 2016 and 2024. Art in that city changed at that time?
Politically, Berlin changed dramatically by the progress of this time, which had a huge impact on local location and production. Berlin came back in 2016 and longed to establish a strong cultural site, which provided many opportunities for growth. Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 and ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the city fell in depression. I still find a berlin a unique artistic expression, but its energy requires reconstruction, difficult under current condition.

In Emma, ​​he takes the long director Pilvi kalama. What is your idea of ​​the estate he left the center?
Pilvi’s employment has been a basis for creating Emma at the center. The amazing increase in the museum has everything in its program and institutions are included in his leadership. What are your Emma plans, talk more? What are you feeling your mission there?
First and very important, I want to give time to check and study in the region and many groups that are addressed by Emma. Only for that process I can start to describe directions clearly. As the Greatest Museum in Finland, Emma holds a different position, but is very thin (will turn the next 20th year), so there is many opportunities and the power to improve the muzualu. Very few international directors have worked inside the Finnish art of Finland, and I believe that bringing an external view can encourage new syns and location and location. It is very interesting to be part of creating its next chapter.

You do not take part in the Director at Emma but also CEO. What does that mean?
I am responsible for full work, including its business side. I believe it is important to know every Angle and the center details for growing and developing progressively.
